My wife and I left Florida on vacation to Alabama and Tennessee. While on vacation I purchased another 3500 truck, because my other truck was not big enough for our camper. The new truck needed a transmission. So the dealer sent the truck to a local transmission in Gadse, Alabama. Quote "The Best Shop in Alabama." Five days later my truck was ready. I picked up the truck and drove to a gas station ten miles down the road, the transmission came apart again. Sent the truck back to the "Best Transmission Shop in Alabama" to be fixed a second time. Four days later called...truck is ready. Got truck; left for Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, arrived in Tennessee transmission fell apart again. It was on the 4th of July week and I found "Chip's Transmissions". They were really loaded at their shop, but Phil Sims, the Manager knew I was in a fix, being out of town and needed my transmission fixed. They worked me in and this time my transmission was fixed right! They only had to do it "1" time not twice. I am really grateful for their service, compassion and understanding of my situation. They have excellent and qualified mechanics to do transmissions. I'd tell anybodyif you have transmission troubles to take it to "Chip's", even if you have to haul it. They know their stuff. We had an emergency with our Dodge truck, while pulling a fifth-wheel trailer, during a trip to the Smoky Mountians. We were thankful to be introduced to Chip's Transmissions. As soon as we arrived, the guys got right on the problem, and had us running and out of there in less than an hour. The employees were super friendly, with good attitudes. This company seems very honest and gave us a fair deal. When traveling, this is very hard to find. I would highly recommend Chip's Transmissions.

My first experience with your shop was almost 7 years ago when I bought my tribute. We brought it in to have a larger transmission cooler for towing. You told us we didn't need it because Mazda put a large enough cooler in it for towing. We were impressed then. We started referring people to your shop then. We have had our transmission serviced twice--even called you from Florida when our transmission light was flashing. Your service of looking at used cars for us when we bought my daughter's car was indispensible--even though she dreaded bringing the ones she liked. After 5 cars we finally got one. I just moved to this area from St. Louis, and was worried a out finding a good, dependable, and HONEST car repair shop. At Chip's I found all threee. They took care of my car repair promptly and at a very reasonable cost. My car was fixed right the first time. When my parents visited from St. Louis they were having car air conditioning problems in the hottest part of the year. Since they were both in their 80's they were frantic about where to go. I called Smitty and he got them in immediately. Thank you Smitty and your crew!
